Theresa Agonia, Vice-Chairperson
Theresa Agonia was born and raised in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Growing up as a dual citizen of the United States and Portugal, she grew up involved in opportunities to support Portuguese traditions. She considers her passions to be in public service, supporting women’s rights and being a voice for marginalized communities. In addition to serving as Vice-Chairperson of The Providence Business Loan Fund, she is a board member for the Central Falls Alumni Association, Roger Williams University Alumni Association, the Providence Performing Arts Center, and Chairwoman of the Dexter Donation Commission. She currently serves as Senior Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Jorge Elorza in the Capital City of Providence, Rhode Island, where she manages community engagement strategies and the City’s annual events calendar. She also manages staff and high-level Mayoral initiatives focused on education, licensing for small businesses, strategic partnerships and economic development.
